The Sun say Arsenal boss Unai Emery is determined to sign a centre-back this summer and his possible targets include Toby Alderweireld and Kurt Zouma.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Tottenham defender Alderweireld, while Zouma is on a season-long loan from Chelsea at Everton, who are keen to sign him on a permanent basis. [phone]

Leicester’s England defender Harry Maguire and Djene Dakonam of Spanish side Getafe are also said to be on Emery’s radar.

The story adds that Emery will have to work with a budget of around £40m and that Arsenal are looking to sell the likes of Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi in order to finance incoming signings.

Arsenal and Tottenham both want on-loan Leicester star Youri Tielemans, also according to The Sun.

Arsenal are interested in Reading’s 16-year-old goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke, the Daily Mail say.

The Daily Star say Arsenal want to tie Nacho Monreal to a new contract in order to avoid losing him to Barcelona, while the Daily Express say Paris St-Germain are prepared to sell Christopher Nkunku for around £17m.

Tottenham have rejected a bid from Napoli for Kieran Trippier and are waiting for an offer from Manchester United, the Star say.

And Chelsea youngster Martell Taylor-Crossdale is wanted by Fulham and Bristol City, according to the Mirror.
