Manchester United are second highest spenders for 202425 season

The club with the highest spend is Brighton, with £231.4 million, however just behind them having spent £202.1 million are The Red Devils.

This January only Patrick Dorgu has arrived at the club as a significant signing for £25 million.

Ultimately this shows that United’s extensive summer signing for Erik ten Hag’s squad prior to his sacking has led the club to be one of the highest spenders.

The club will no doubt face criticism given the financial pressures on the club already, added to the fact that Ruben Amorim’s men are struggling in 13th place.

The summer saw United sign Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee in a bid to boost performances following the club’s eighth place finish last season.

However, with United continuing to struggle, ten Hag was sacked to pave the way for Ruben Amorim to work his magic.

Unfortunately this means that £600 million was spent assembling the squad for a system which is no longer being used, with Amorim looking to further signings to fit his playstyle.

Whilst Manchester City and Chelsea are both showing similar spending at £200.8 million and £196.7 million, the other end of the table sees league leaders Liverpool with the lowest level of spending at only £34.7 million.
