Manchester United and Brentford agreed to sign forward Bryan Mbeumo on Friday afternoon.

The Cameroon international has stated his desire to join United in order to assist Ruben Amorim in restoring the squad to its previous standing at the top of the Premier League.

After the Red Devils’ interest in the forward was exclusively broken by CentreDevils, the negotiations were difficult and drawn out, taking almost two months to conclude.

Ruben Amorim’s team agreed to a fee of £71 million, including £6 million in add-ons, despite having two bids rejected.

CentreDevils also exclusively revealed yesterday that Mbeumo had successfully completed his medical tests as well as signing his Manchester United contract.

He is set to wear the number 19 shirt—the same number he wore at Brentford, and now he has had his first ever training session with his new club.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Bryan Mbeumo did some extra strength and conditioning work today with new teammate Joshua Zirkzee.

He will be on the plane tomorrow for the USA preseason tour.

The 25-year-old Cameroon international has had personal terms in place for a while; he agreed to a five-year contract until 2030 with the possibility of an additional year’s extension.

The Cameroon attacker was not signed in time to play in last weekend’s 0-0 draw between the Red Devils and Leeds United in Stockholm, which was the team’s first preseason match.

However Ruben Amorim will be delighted to have him in time for the USA tour.

United are now concentrating on acquiring a striker to play in front of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with players like Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa at the top of the wishlist.

Unfortunately, though, the team must now sell before they can acquire any new players.
