Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has now spoken out on the links between his club and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho has been widely suspected of leaving Old Trafford this month as Napoli have been keen to sign the winger.
Antonio Conte identified the 20-year-old as his top target for the left wing after losing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG.
The Italian club have been desperate to secure their man, with United sending representatives to Italy to discuss the deal.
Napoli submitted an initial bid of £42 million which was rejected by United, with The Red Devils wanting upwards of £60 million.
Their most recent valuation has reportedly risen higher to £75 million.
Now, Napoli are looking unlikely to increase their offer for Garnacho, which has paved the way for Premier League rivals Chelsea to enter the fray.
The London-based club have been reportedly looking at Garnacho this month, however, these links may now be put to bed.
Speaking about the transfer links, Enzo Maresca commented: “I’m happy with what we have. On the right, it’s Neto and Noni. On the left, we have Sancho. We had Misha but he’s not with us. Tyrique [George] is an option.”
It was originally thought that Chelsea were considering Garnacho as a replacement for Mykhaylo Mudryk, who is facing a potential four-year ban for failing a drugs test.
However, these more recent comments seem to silence any rumours that Chelsea will be making a move for United’s young winger.
