Manchester United loanee Ethan Ennis endured a frustrating moment during Doncaster Rovers’ 2-1 victory over Accrington Stanley.
He was substituted despite only coming on in the second half.
Ennis joined Doncaster on loan in January to gain his first experience in professional football.
He has gradually been adapting to life in League Two.
The 20-year-old had impressed for United’s Under-21s earlier in the season.

He has since made eight appearances for Doncaster, starting in four of those games.
After missing a recent match against Grimsby Town due to an injury picked up against Crystal Palace, Ennis returned to the squad last weekend.
He was an unused substitute in a win over Morecambe.
However, he finally made his return to the pitch on Saturday, as a second-half substitute against Accrington.
Sadly for him, his outing was cut short in the closing stages when Doncaster were reduced to 10 men.
This forced manager Grant McCann into a tactical change.
Ennis was sacrificed for veteran centre-back Richard Wood as Doncaster looked to see out the result.
Grant McCann explains decision to bring Ethan Ennis off
McCann explained the decision post-match, acknowledging that it was “harsh” on the young attacker but necessary in the circumstances.
“It was backs against the wall for a little bit towards the end.
“They were flinging balls in [to the box], adding centre-backs to the forward line,” McCann said.
“So it was just an ideal opportunity to get Woody on for the last couple of minutes.”
While it wasn’t an ideal scenario for Ennis, McCann made it clear that the forward took the decision in stride.
“It was harsh on Ethan, but he understands.
“He’s just come on, we go down to 10 men – an attacking player off and a defensive player on just to see the game out.”
It speaks volumes about the competitive nature of the side Ennis has joined.
Doncaster are currently in the thick of a promotion battle, sitting second in League Two.
Just one point separates them from Wimbledon, Notts County, and Bradford.
United sent Ennis out on loan for this exact type of experience.
Playing in high-pressure situations where every point is fought for like survival.
Now, he will be eager to bounce back when Doncaster take on Newport County next weekend.
