Ruben Amorim is facing a tough task managing United’s squad amid a mounting injury crisis.
The Red Devils are running out of time to secure their top four finish, with injuries threatening to derail their campaign.
United’s squad depth is being tested in these final weeks of the season, and injuries continue to pile up.
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United have suffered another major injury setback.
Diogo Dalot has suffered a calf injury and “it is a possibility” he will miss the rest of the season, reveals Amorim.
The 24-year-old Portuguese right-back had appeared as a substitute in United’s 1-0 loss to Wolves, but his absence from training raised concerns.
Amorim has now confirmed and said, “Diogo will be out for the next games… and it’s possible also for the rest of the season”.
“We don’t know how long he is going to be out, but he is out for this game, next games.
“Amad is near.
“Matta (De Ligt) is near.
“The rest is at the same pace.
“Ayden (Heaven) is not ready. That is it.”

Diogo Dalot has been a key figure for United, with 41 appearances this season across all competitions.
His absence is a significant blow to United as they approach crucial games, including their Europa League semi-final against Athletic Club.
The Portuguese full-back has been crucial both defensively and offensively, contributing to United’s consistent performances throughout the campaign.
Amorim admitted that while the precise duration of Dalot’s recovery is still unclear, there is a possibility that he could miss the remainder of the season.
“There is that possibility.
“We will check week by week. He works really hard, he can recover quite well.
“He has something in his muscle, his calf. He had a sequence of games when he played all the time.
“Some of the players played a lot of minutes.
“Dalot felt something,” Amorim said.
A calf injury typically takes about 1 to 3 weeks to heal, depending on the severity.
A mild calf strain may require around 1 to 2 weeks of rest and rehabilitation, while more severe injuries, such as muscle tears, can take 4 to 6 weeks or longer to fully recover, as per a report by Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
As Manchester United face a vital run-in for their place in the Champions League via victory in the Europa League, the absence of Diogo Dalot further highlights the need for additional depth in the squad.
United fans will be hoping for a swift recovery, but the injury underscores the importance of strengthening the team over the summer transfer window.
