Last week, concerns were raised as Diogo Dalot missed training and Manchester United’s 1-1 draw to Bournemouth with a calf injury, ruling him out.
The right-back is one of United’s most-used players this season, making his absence worrying for fans, especially as reports suggested he’d miss the remainder of the season.
Confirming fans’ fears, Ruben Amorim recently commented: “Diogo [Dalot] will be out for the next games… and it’s possible also for the rest of the season”.
He continued: “We don’t know how long he is going to be out, but he is out for this game, next games.”
Dalot reportedly tried to manage the situation on his own after feeling discomfort against Lyon, starting on the bench for United’s 1-0 loss to Wolves.
However, United may have just been handed a major boost, with the right-back looking to return by the end of the season.
The Daily Mail has reported that Diogo Dalot is fighting to get fit once more, potentially being ready if he’s needed for the Europa League final on 21st May.
Between now and then, not only does Dalot have to recover ahead of schedule, but United have to secure their place in the Final, facing Athletic Club in the Semi-Finals.
The first leg is set to take place this week in Spain, with United having the home advantage for their second meeting, a factor which played out dramatically in the Quarter-Finals against Lyon.
