Manchester United’s hopes of ending the season strongly now hinge on how they manage their squad depth.
With Ruben Amorim fully focused on the Europa League, squad rotation in the Premier League is expected to continue over the final few weeks.
United’s injury list remains a growing concern, with several players facing late fitness tests ahead of the crucial matches.
The Red Devils know that clinching a Champions League spot via Europa League success is their main objective under Amorim’s leadership.
Meanwhile, preparations for pre-season are already underway, with key decisions looming over players currently out on loan.
One of those decisions involves Marcus Rashford, who is set to miss the remainder of Aston Villa’s season after suffering a hamstring injury, as per David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Although further tests will be conducted to assess the full extent of the damage, early reports suggest that surgery will not be necessary.
Rashford’s club campaign appears to be over, with Aston Villa’s final fixture on May 25 against Manchester United — a match he would have been ineligible for anyway.
There is a slim chance he could recover in time for Villa’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on May 18, although fixture rescheduling discussions may complicate that possibility.
His main focus is now on recovering fully ahead of England’s June fixtures and preparing for pre-season training.
The 27-year-old has made a decent impact during his loan spell at Villa, recording four goals and six assists across 17 appearances.

Villa’s loan agreement for Rashford includes a £40 million option to make the move permanent, but his long-term future remains uncertain.
Speaking at a recent press conference, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that all loan players, including Marcus Rashford, will return at the end of the season for the club to evaluate their next steps.
Amorim praised the progress of Rashford and others out on loan, highlighting how important it is for loanees to thrive when away from Old Trafford.
Unai Emery, Villa’s manager, recently indicated that Rashford would be sidelined for “some weeks” after missing their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace.
Rashford also returned to the England setup in March after a long absence, starting in wins over Albania and Latvia, and he remains a key figure for the Three Lions.
Villa, meanwhile, are battling for European qualification in the Premier League, sitting seventh and just three points behind fifth-placed Chelsea.
Their final run-in sees them face Fulham and Bournemouth before those crucial matches against Spurs and Manchester United.
