Manchester United are determined to keep club captain Bruno Fernandes this summer despite major interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

The Portuguese midfielder has been an absolute power house for The Red Devils.

He has yet again, been the main man, with 19 goals and 18 assists in 52 games this season.

Fernandes has been so prolific in front of goal, he’s contributed to more goals than United’s current strikers in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee combined.

As such, it’s no surprise that United are determined to keep their captain, with Fernandes wanting to remain at Old Trafford until 2026 at least.

However, Al-Hilal are trying to lure Fernandes, with a £65 million per year contract for three years.

Transfer expert David Ornstein, has now revealed a huge update on Fernandes’ situation.

David Ornstein shares Bruno Fernandes future update

Speaking to Sky Sports News, David Ornstein stated Manchester United are fully intent on keeping Fernandes at the club.

“We don’t know if that will change with the sort of numbers that might be proposed.

“They will become eye-watering if they really want to go for Bruno Fernandes.”

Al-Hilal are reportedly willing to smash the Premier League transfer record to sign him.

A figure set to exceed the £115 million Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo.

However, Ornstein made it clear that Manchester United currently have no intention of accepting any offer.

“He’s not going anywhere in Manchester United’s mind.”

Fernandes himself also appears unwilling to push for a move.

The current stance appears to be that he’s happy to remain in Europe and continue leading United.

“The sounding we’re getting from these reports are that Bruno Fernandes is not interested in the move as things stand.”

Ultimately, Ornstein summed up the likely outcome if both sides maintain their current stance.

“If he wants to stay and continue his career in Europe, and United genuinely have no intent in cashing in on him regardless of their financial situation, then I imagine it’s a story that will end in him remaining at Old Trafford over the summer and into next season.”

Despite the enormous money on the table, United’s captain looks set to stay, unless an offer truly impossible to ignore comes in.
