Manchester United fans are bracing themselves after another crushing defeat in the Manchester derby, with City running out 3-0 winners at the Etihad.

The start to the 2025/26 Premier League season has been grim for the Red Devils, who have only managed four points from their first four games, marking their worst opening since 1992.

Despite significant summer signings including Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, Ruben Amorim’s squad continues to struggle for cohesion and results.

The mood around Old Trafford is tense, with supporters growing increasingly impatient and vocal after each disappointing performance.

Former players and pundits have been weighing in on the crisis, with opinions split on whether the issues lie with the manager, the squad, or both.

David Beckham, one of the club’s most iconic figures, has now added his voice to the chorus of criticism, expressing his frustration with the current squad.

In a candid interview with CBSSportsGolazo via X, the ex-United star admitted watching the team’s performances has become “a very hard watch.”

David Beckham emphasised that, as a former player and lifelong supporter, he hopes the players are “hurting like we are as fans” after humiliating defeats.

He insisted that it doesn’t matter who’s in charge—every squad member should feel the same pain and responsibility as the supporters when results go against them.

“Being an ex-player and a fan I would hope that they are hurting like we are as fans.

“And I’m sure they are, because they’re not going out there not wanting to win games,” Beckham said, reflecting the wider frustration across Old Trafford.

He also noted the added pressure of facing City at their home ground: “They’ve just come up against a team like Manchester City at Manchester City.

“And when you lose a game like that, you don’t go out for a while, because if you do, you’ll just bump into United fans.”

Beckham’s remarks were reinforced by other former Red Devils.

Paul Scholes suggested players are performing “like robots,” with nobody taking responsibility, while Nicky Butt warned Amorim must “bite the bullet and change a bit” to reverse the club’s fortunes.

United’s hierarchy are continuing to back Ruben Amorim as reported.

With the Portuguese manager under increasing scrutiny and performances continuing to disappoint, the Red Devils’ challenging start to the season shows little sign of easing.

The harsh reality for Manchester United is clear: fans, former legends, and pundits alike are all fed up, and the pressure is mounting on Amorim to turn the tide before the situation worsens further.
