Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo is set to marry his long-term partner Georgina Rodruiguez.
The pair have been together for nine years now, having met in 2016 when Georgia worked at a Gucci shop in Madrid, however hints at an eventual wedding have been building over recent months.
Back in December at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo’s acceptance speech got eyebrows raised at a potential secret wedding having taken place when he commented: “It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here.”
When asked previously why the pair were unmarried after a lengthy time together, Ronaldo commented: “”I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about.
“It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1,000 per cent sure that it’ll happen.”
However, Rodriguez has also commented on a potential wedding, commenting that her friends routinely asked her when the wedding is.
Adding to this she explained: “Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring Or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me.”
The pair have two daughters together, 7-year-old Alana, and 3-year-old Bella, with Bella’s twin brother, Angel, tragically passing away at birth. Alongside the two girls, Rodriguez has also helped to raise Ronaldo’s other three children; 15-year-old Cristiano Jr, and both 8-year-olds, Mateo, and Eva Maria.
Now, the news of them getting ready to tie the knot comes as Roriguez posted an image of the ring on her Instagram, captioned: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
