As per BBC, Zwayer, now 43, previously served a six-month suspension in 2006 for his alleged involvement in a match-fixing plot involving disgraced official Robert Hoyzer.
Zwayer reportedly accepted a £250 bribe from Hoyzer but was also one of the referees who informed authorities of the wider scheme.
A move which likely contributed to his reduced punishment.
Despite continuing to deny any wrongdoing, the controversy has followed him throughout his career.
In 2021, Jude Bellingham was fined €40,000 for referencing Zwayer’s past after a match while playing for Borussia Dortmund.
A matter that reignited public awareness of the case.

Nonetheless, Zwayer has climbed back into UEFA’s top ranks, having recently officiated England’s Euro semi-final win over the Netherlands.
As well as Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final defeat to PSG.
He will now take charge of an all-English Europa League final.

As per BBC, Irfan Peljto will referee the Conference League final between Chelsea and Real Betis.
While Istvan Kovacs will oversee the Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan.
