Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has just been awarded a special Premier League prize, honouring his time in the league.

The Denmark international has officially passed the 300 Premier League appearances mark.

His landmark game being United’s recent fixture with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, with Eriksen coming on as a substitute.

Originally joining the league with Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, moving from Ajax for £12 million, Eriksen made 226 appearances, with 206 starts and coming off the bench 20 times.

During this time the midfielder scored 51 goals and grabbed 65 assists, helping Spurs achieve back-to-back second place in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons.

Then, after a brief spell with Inter Milan between 2020 and 2021, then finding himself without a club, Eriksen returned to the Premier League in January 2022 with Brentford, making 11 appearances with ten starts and a solo appearance off the bench, grabbing a goal and four assists.

After half a season back, Eriksen secured a free transfer to Manchester United, with the current campaign being his third season at Old Trafford.

During this time he’s played 63 games with 44 starts and 19 appearances off the bench, grabbing two goals and 11 assists.

With 54 goals in the Premier League, he is the league’s leading Danish scorer of all time and with 80 assists he sits in 12th place on the all-time assists chart.

Christian Eriksen reflects on his time in the Premier League

Speaking to Manchester United’s official website about his time in the league, Eriksen commented: “It’s been fun with all the different challenges, with different styles of play from different managers, different players.”

He continued: “I would say, after I left Spurs to [go to] Italy, I thought I’m never coming back to the Prem, so that’s also a sign of how quickly things change in football.

“Yeah, that’s just what happened and I really enjoyed my time at Brentford. I’ve really enjoyed my time here and [I am] still.

“I think, if you look at all the stats you’re mentioning and the numbers and whatever comes back down in history later, I mean, that’s just the benefit of what I’ve done and what I’ve achieved.

“But no, I’m proud of, first of all, the games, but also the times I could be involved in scoring a goal or setting up a goal.

“Yeah, I’ve made history for a Danish guy.”

With Eriksen’s contract coming to an end in the summer and no sign of an extension, this season may be the last we see of the incredible Danish playmaker in the league.
