Last summer, Manchester United managed to secure the signing of exciting young striker Chido Obi.

The young wonderkid was one of the most promising rising stars in the Arsenal academy, however, decided on a move to Old Trafford to further pursue his career further.

Obi has already shown his impressive potential in the academy sides, being promoted to the senior side under Ruben Amorim, being awarded with his senior debut in recent weeks.

Now, the young striker’s potential has been acknowledged with an international call-up.

Academy Scoop has reported the 17-year-old is joining the Danish Under-21s team for their upcoming fixtures.

Obi has been announced as part of Denmark’s 22-man squad preparing to face Poland and Italy in a series of friendlies.

With this being the striker’s first international outing at Under-21s level, Obi will no doubt be keen to show his ability at a higher level on the international stage.

Since last September, Obi has made four international appearances for Denmark’s Under-18s side, grabbing two goals in the process.

This experience will help towards Obi’s on-pitch development, helping shape him further after some impressive cameos for United’s senior side.

Since his brief debut against Tottenham in February, the young striker has made two further appearances, one against Everton and an other against Fulham in the FA Cup, however is yet to start.

However, with Rasmus Hojlund still struggling to find the target, going 20 games without a goal or goal contribution, Amorim must be looking at the youngster with excitement for his potential to be realised at the top level.
