Marcus Rashford recently joined Barcelona on a loan deal from Manchester United but is currently out on international duty following a call-up from England boss Thomas Tuchel.
Whilst on international duty, the left-winger today played 68 minutes in the side’s 2-0 win over Andorra before being substituted.
During the game, he also received a 6.7/10 rating on FotMob.
Now, the British media have been reacting to the 27-year-old’s performance in the game and have gave their verdict.
During the game, Rashford was able to attack and had one big chance falling in the 51st minute.
An England attack had seen Eberechi Eze’s shot saved by the Andorra ‘keeper.
The rebound then fell to Marcus Rashford who shot wide.
Commenting on the attempt, the BBC called it a “a disappointing one” whilst the Mirror stated that he “missed a huge chance in the second half” in their post-match review.
Meanwhile, The Irish News stated that “Rashford only showed glimpses during a flat display.”
The Independent also stated that the Englishman “had good moments but couldn’t finish them.”
In terms of match ratings, the Mirror gave Rashford’s performance a six out of ten stating that the winger “started well but faded away.”
Sky Sports were slightly more positive giving the 27-year-old’s performance a seven out of ten.
Furthermore, the Standard gave Rashford’s performance a six out of ten commenting that the winger “missed a great chance early in the second half, when he curled an effort wide from inside the box. Fine, but no fireworks.”
As we can see, the British media have reviewed the 27-year-old’s performance in a number of differing ways.
But, what is clear is that there is still room to improve for Marcus Rashford.
England’s next game against Serbia could present this opportunity.
