Manchester United’s Europa League push may have taken centre stage in recent weeks, but the Premier League campaign continues with critical fixtures that could shape the outlook of their season.
Following an impressive win in Spain over Athletic Club, Ruben Amorim’s side now face a quick turnaround as they return to domestic duties.
United currently sit 14th in the league table after a season of inconsistency, though their recent uptick in European performances has given supporters a reason to remain hopeful.

With the league proving a tougher test than anticipated, every remaining match is crucial — not only to rebuild momentum but to offer the squad a platform to finish strong and lay a foundation for 2025/26.
And Sunday’s clash against Brentford just got trickier.
The Bees will welcome United to the Gtech Community Stadium fresh off a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, and head coach Thomas Frank has now confirmed his side will be close to full strength.
“Everyone is safe, fit, okay,” Frank told reporters.
“We are ready to go again on Sunday. Of course, it is a tight turnaround, but it is what it is, and we are looking forward to playing on Sunday.”
Frank also confirmed the return of key duo Aaron Hickey and Igor Thiago, both of whom have resumed full training.

Hickey, sidelined since October with a hamstring injury, and Thiago, limited to just four appearances this season due to a knee issue, could both be in contention to face United.
However, Brentford will be without midfielder Vitaly Janelt for the remainder of the season after surgery on a heel injury, while Fabio Carvalho (shoulder) and Josh Dasilva (knee) remain sidelined.
Despite United’s position in the table, Frank had praise for Amorim’s team, suggesting their points tally doesn’t reflect their performances: “It’s a team that is very structured… they have not got what they have played to.”
United will need to be sharp and disciplined in west London, with Brentford buoyed by key returns and eager to spoil United’s weekend.
