Benjamin Sesko is just one of many players to join Ruben Amorim’s team this season.
The striker, formerly of RB Leipzig, joined United from Leipzig this summer.
But, since joining, the 22-year-old has only played 80 minutes across three games.
Given that Sesko scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for RB, he will arguably be aiming to hit similar levels in the Premier League this season.
However, with the competition present in Ruben Amorim’s squad, the Slovenian will arguably have to work hard to achieve what he wants.
Now, a minor setback has emerged to this aim.
According to Ruben Amorim, Benjamin Sesko following Manchester United’s game against Grimsby Town, where he played 90 minutes.
Speaking to the press following the game, Amorim commented that Sesko “finished the game with cramps, really on the limit.”
Furthermore, the manager has said that this is “why we protect Ben from the penalties, today that reason also. I was thinking Ben pre-season didn’t do 90 minutes, he did that on Weds.”
With this now revealed, attention will turn towards making sure the striker is able to play against Manchester City in two weeks.
Furthermore, with United’s fierce rivals having a squad that features names such as Erling Haaland and John Stones, Sesko’s involvement will arguably will be crucial towards the Red Devils’ aim of winning the game.
But, given the striker hasn’t played a full 90 minutes in the Premier League this season, his involvement in this game may be limited to protect him.
Therefore, with a number of options available, Ruben Amorim could choose to turn to players such as Matheus Cunha to fill Benjamin Sesko’s role.
If Sesko does feature, he will arguably aim to hit start the same goalscoring form of the past.
