Ahead of the 2025–2026 season, Marcus Rashford has had a busy summer with both Manchester United and Barcelona.
Rashford, who transferred from the Red Devils to the Spanish giants in July, was a member of the notorious “bomb squad”, which also included Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony.
Barcelona officially registered Rashford and he hopes to compete for a starting spot in the team.
This won’t be easy with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres all competing for the winger positions.
The 27-year-old England international is hoping to rediscover his form under Hansi Flick.
His struggles at United have been ongoing for the past 18 months now.
Ruben Amorim didn’t include him in his plans, with the Red Devils signing Matheus Cunha as his replacement.
Bryan Mbeumo was also signed this summer to play in the number 10 role alongside Cunha, leaving no room for Rashford.
However, reports are coming out of Spain now that Rashford’s loan could be cancelled early.

According to ElNacional.cat, if Marcus Rashford continues to leave such a poor image over the next few months, Barcelona may consider breaking the loan agreement in January.
The Spanish publication report that La Blaugrana were initially impressed by Rashford’s physical and technical ability that he showed in pre-season.
However, since the season has started, Rashford’s performances have left a lot to be desired with the Barcelona hierarchy despite a number of minutes on the pitch.
ElNacional state that the club have already informed the England international that he must improve if he wants to play more for Barcelona, otherwise he will be sent back to Old Trafford.
To break the long agreement with Manchester United, Barcelona would have to pay £4.3 million (€5 million, the same figure as in June) if they finally decide not to exercise the £26 million (€30 million) that appears in their purchase option.
This is similar to the £5m penalty fee that Chelsea had to pay when they decided against turning Jadon Sancho’s loan move into a permanent transfer in the summer.
Marcus Rashford arrived on the back of an excellent spell at Aston Villa last season, where he rediscovered his confidence and finishing touch.
Although United would have preferred a permanent transfer for the England forward, they are expected to save approximately £17 million on wages, as Barcelona will cover 100% of his salary during the loan spell.
If Barcelona do decide to terminate the loan, it would just cause more issues for the Red Devils having to look for another buyer for the Englishman.
