Alejandro Garnacho’s Manchester United future remains uncertain with just weeks of the summer transfer window left to run.
Napoli were in the mix to acquire his signature, back in the winter window.
However, a move never materialised after their opening offer was rejected – paving the way for Chelsea to swoop in.
Chelsea have since long been regarded as the frontrunners for his signature, with the winger’s representatives having already held talks at Stamford Bridge last season.
The Blues are preparing a bid and remain the only club on the player’s mind, though time is running out for a deal to be completed before deadline day.
With the clock ticking, Garnacho’s situation at Old Trafford continues to look increasingly untenable, and a resolution is expected in the coming weeks.
Now, another twist has emerged, with Argentina leaving the winger out of their squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 21-year-old, who made his international debut in June 2023, has not been called up for games against Venezuela and Ecuador next month, as officially stated on Argentina national team website.
It marks a notable change, with Garnacho having been a regular presence in Argentina squads throughout 2024, only to be excluded entirely this year.
The winger has been frozen out of the United squad, training alone at Carrington for over a month, and was not involved in the season opener against Arsenal.
His relationship with Ruben Amorim broke down last season after a series of disciplinary issues, culminating in his frustration at being benched for the Europa League final.
Amorim admitted this summer that Garnacho wanted a “different leadership” and suggested a parting of ways would suit all parties.
With Chelsea and Napoli monitoring closely, Garnacho’s departure would also represent pure profit for United under PSR rules.
