Andre Onana’s future at Manchester United has been the subject of intense speculation, particularly following a difficult second season at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old joined United from Inter Milan in a £47.5 million deal.

While he impressed in the early stages, performances have dipped massively this season.

Onana was recently criticised following a pair of high-profile mistakes during United’s 2-2 draw away at Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Former United midfielder Nemanja Matic went as far as to label him “one of the worst goalkeepers in the club’s history.”

Despite the scrutiny, manager Ruben Amorim has publicly backed Onana.

Amorim has reaffirmed his status as United’s number one for the rest of the campaign.

Even with competition from Altay Bayindir.

Club captain Harry Maguire has also voiced his support for the Cameroonian international.

The Englishman’s highlighted his resilience and ability to bounce back.

Links to Saudi Arabia have persisted in recent months.

However, Onana has now made a move that suggests he’s committed to staying put.

Andre Onana buys £3.5m mansion in Manchester

United in Focus via Dale O’Donnell have revealed that Andre Onana has purchased a luxury mansion in Hale Barns, a village near Altrincham in Greater Manchester.

The property boasts four bedrooms, a private cinema, home gym, tennis and basketball courts.

As well as a heated pool and an outdoor leisure area fit for gatherings with family and friends.

The decision to settle in the area long-term hints that Onana sees his future at United.

Also suggests Onana is looking to build something lasting at the club after spells at Ajax and Inter.

Earlier this week, club legend Peter Schmeichel also jumped to Onana’s defence.

He criticised those singling out the goalkeeper amid United’s collective struggles this season.

With Amorim’s continued backing and signs of stability off the pitch, Onana looks set to remain a central part of the project at Old Trafford.
