Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are both at the end of their Manchester United careers, as the duo have no place in Ruben Amorim’s future plans.
With both men having come through the Manchester United academy, there are some similarities between the two wingers, especially as they’ve both fallen out with Amorim, now being cast out for the club to find other sides.
The pair have been on individual training since their return to Carrington for the pre-season training, having been seen together on the training field after the rest of the squad had left the facility.
Marcus Rashford has now found his new home with Barcelona, being unveiled by the LaLiga champions earlier today.
However, Alejandro Garnacho is still at Carrington, with only Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea declaring interest at the moment.
Despite no official movement for the Argentina international, Garnacho is made up for his former teammate, responding to the move on social media.
On Instagram, Barcelona unveiled his move with an image of the attacker celebrating in a Barcelona kit, with the caption: “FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Marcus Rashford until 30 June 2026. The agreement also establishes an option to buy the English forward.”
Responding to the announcement post, Garnacho commented: “Lets gooooo” with two salute emojis, showing support for his fellow attacker.
Now, the 21-year-old is at Carrington without Rashford, with Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia also in individual training as they too look to line up moves away from the club.
In a bid to help offload Garnacho, United have dropped his asking price from £70 million to £40 million to try and bring about a sale this summer.
