It looks like Ajax are strengthening their stock ahead of the transfer window closing.

While all eyes are on English Premier League sides to see who they’re bringing in, some of Europe’s biggest sides are also making their moves.

As we know, Juventus are looking to bring Jadon Sancho to Turin.

Sancho is expecting to move to Italy on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

He’s not the only player who has been involved in a loan deal in the past.

When Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo, there was a hole left upfront.

With no funds to bring in a permanent singing, United turned to the loan signing of Wout Weghorst from Burnley.

Weghorst is now set to move to the Netherlands to continue his career there.

According to De Telegraaf, Wout Weghorst is set to join Ajax from Burnley.

The former United striker has agreed a move with the Dutch giants on a contract until 2026.

All that remains is for the two clubs to strike a deal between themselves – which should be a formality.

Burnley are back in the Championship after one season in the English Premier League and Weghorst, who played for his country in UEFA Euro 2024, is keen to play at a higher level.

Ajax, who have been linked with a move for Christian Eriksen as well, have been struggling to make transfers due to their current financial situation.

De Telegraaf states that the club have agreed to sell one of the players to AC Milan and that’s released the funds for the Weghorst move.

Whether they’ll have enough in the kitty to sign Christian Eriksen too remains to be seen.
