Manchester United has opted to build a new stadium instead of redeveloping the current Old Trafford.
The new stadium will have a capacity of 100,000, making it one of the largest football stadiums in the world.
The stadium is part of a larger regeneration project for the Old Trafford area, which includes mixed-use developments and community benefits.
While the club hopes to have the stadium completed by 2030, it could take until 2032 at the latest.
The regeneration project aims to create a vibrant public space and a catalyst for renewal in the area.
There will always be both financial problems and deals being made with projects of this size, and a £400 million deal is now in the works.

According to the Guardian, United have held talks with Freightliner, the haulage company that owns and operates the terminal, about buying the land, but negotiations are deadlocked due to a disagreement over the price.
The club wants land used as a rail freight terminal to complete the Old Trafford Regeneration Project, which they claim will bring £7.3bn a year to the UK economy.
Although it is said that Freightliner has indicated a desire to move from Trafford Park to the neighbouring town of St. Helens, the company is asking for over £400 million for the land, while United values it at between £40 and £50 million.
Initial talks are thought to have come to a standstill, and Ratcliffe has made it clear that United will not accept the asking price established by Freightliner’s parent firm, Brookfield.
A source told the Guardian that Freightliner “has United over a barrel.”
The company is willing to relocate to a proposed new site that would offer increased capacity for trains, but it is in no rush to move.
The club’s view is that Freightliner will only receive what would be a significant windfall if they are willing to drop the asking price.
