1. Background
James Overy was born in 2007.
Overy began his footballing journey in Australia, where he joined the youth setup at Perth Glory.
Despite his young age, he quickly stood out with his performances.
The defender managed to catch the eye of multiple scouts with his composure and attacking prowess as a right-back.
Overy gained significant attention after a pre-season friendly between Perth Glory and West Ham in 2023.
His impressive display against top tier opposition opened the door to trials with Premier League clubs.

But a transfer ultimately did not happen with The Toffees.
During 2024, Overy relocated to the UK with his family and began playing for non-league side Newton Abbot Spurs in Devon.
