Where Are Manchester United?

It’s telling already that pre-season didn’t reinvigorate the players. Teams around us are faster, slicker and more tuned-in with their own identity than United are right now.

Sure, we’re 2 games into the season (fun fact, THAT ’99 season we drew our first two games, (2-2 Leicester, 0-0 West Ham) only to then steamroll Charlton 4-1 after a Yorke and Solskjaer brace).

Now I am not saying we’re anything close to that team.

But what I am saying is that form is found, form is earned and form requires ups and downs. We’ve started slow, but can we start picking apart our issues to drill into what we know ten Hag is looking for?

Injuries are already plaguing our start – Mount, Shaw, Malacia, Amad, Mainoo and Hojlund are all out.

Can our returning players make that crutial impact? We’re looking at a return potentially for Jonny Evans, we’re eyeing up a Martial match and we’re dangerously close to seeing Harry Maguire back in defence.

So where are Manchester United?

Well, we’re 3 points out of 6 into the new season. A win on Saturday steers the ship steady (for now) as we enter a week of transfer deadline madness.
