In February 2004, Mourinho faced Manchester United for the first time in the Champions League Round of 16.
Porto won the first leg 2-1 at Old Trafford.
With former United forwards coach Benny McCarthy scoring both Porto goals.
The second leg ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw, with Porto progressing to the quarter-finals with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
This was thanks to a last gasp equaliser, putting United out of the competition.
This match marked a significant moment in Mourinho’s career, as it led to his first Champions League triumph.
