Manchester United have never needed a win as much as they need one this weekend against Burnley.
It’s the last fixture before the international break, and when United return they’re straight into the Manchester Derby.
So far United have lost to Arsenal at Old Trafford, drew away to Fulham and then shockingly lost to Grimsby Town on penalties to be eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
Now, United need the win against newly promoted Burnley, to give the club, and the fans, confidence in the side heading into the international break.
So, who will Ruben Amorim be fielding in this must-win fixture?
Ruben Amorim’s decision ahead of Burnley fixture
Unfortunately with the extent of the season so far, predicting Amorim’s starting line-up is no easy task.
For the first two games of the Premier League, Amorim remained true to his line-up, however some would argue it didn’t work out too well, albeit better than the team he fielded against Grimsby.
That said, there are some changes that could be made to Amorim’s Premier League line-up heading it o the Burnley clash.
We know that Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez are ruled out of the game through injury, limiting Amorim to his defensive options. However, he’s yet to star Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro together, arguably his strongest combination for back three.
Equally up top, Amorim is yet to deploy his new £200 million attacking trio to start the game, seeing the Grimsby Town game as Benjamin Sesko’s first start.
However, the biggest part of the guessing game is in goal. Andre Onana was dismal against Grimsby Town, but there equally isn’t much confidence in Altay Bayindir. As such I think Amorim will blindly back Onana yet again, when really most fans would probably take Tom Heaton over both of them at this point.
The only really roles that are sure-fire arguable are that of Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot in the wing-back positions, and Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in the midfield roles.
So, whether or not this is how the team line-up goes, this is how it perhaps should look.
