Ruben Amorim’s returning stars to face Nottingham Forest
The major boost for Amorim will undoubtedly be the return of Kobbie Mainoo who’s been side-lined since the Tottenham game in February.
We know that Mainoo experienced a muscular injury and at the time, Amorim described his time in the treatment room as lasting “weeks” rather than months.
As such we could see the England international return to the pitch against Forest.
Next up is another England international in the form of Harry Maguire.
The centre-back came off against Fulham in the recent FA Cup clash, with Amorim admitting the substitution and subsequent side-lining against Real Sociedad was to not risk any injury.
With that in mind, the two week international break could be the perfect time for Maguire to rest up and prepare to come back against Forest.
Alongside him in defence, Leny Yoro looks set to return after the break.
The 18-year-old had to be taken off in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the start of the month due to an unknown injury.
However, after the game, Amorim commented: “No, no [Yoro’s absence] is not long-term.
“Leny cannot play this game (vs Sociedad) and the other game (vs Leicester).”
As his comments specifically referenced all the matches prior to the international break, it’s a fair bet that the generational talent that is Leny Yoro will be back in the squad when the league resumes in April.
