5. Injury Problems again

Manchester United’s injury issues remains a serious concern, with four defenders picking up knocks against Southampton.
Matthijs de Ligt was subbed off due to cramp, but he reassured fans post-match, stating, “I’m fine. I just had a little cramp.”
De Ligt’s removal seemed precautionary, likely with the upcoming fixture congestion in mind, as United face four games in the next 15 days.
Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui also had to come off after picking up knocks.
Harry Maguire, who came on as a late substitute, appeared in discomfort but had to finish the match with no other defensive options available.
If these players remain unavailable for the next game, United’s injury list will stretch to nine, putting Erik ten Hag’s squad depth under pressure as they prepare for Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
With Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw already sidelined, United will be hoping for a quick recovery for their defensive unit.
