2. Andy Cole

Despite being one of the most prolific strikers in Premier League history, Andy Cole only managed to earn 15 caps for England.

Making his debut in 1995 under Terry Venables, Cole’s international career never gained the momentum his club performances deserved.

He earned his first four caps under four different managers, reflecting the inconsistent opportunities he had to secure a place in the squad.

Cole was often overlooked for major tournaments.

Persistent injuries, including a toe injury before Euro 2000, also hampered his chances of playing on the big stage.

His sole international goal came in a World Cup qualifier against Albania in 2001.

Despite his immense club success, particularly at Manchester United, Cole remains one of the most under-capped English players.
