The inaugural Premier League season saw Manchester United establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with under the managerial guise of Sir Alex Ferguson.
The encounter with Tottenham on January 9 1993 showcased the Red Devils’ dominance as they secured a resounding 4-1 victory.
Eric Cantona, the France forward who was in his first season with United and would go on to become a legend at the club, opened the scoring in the 40th minute.
And then three goals in six minutes killed the game.
Denis Irwin, Brian McClair and Paul Parkar put the ball in the back of the net and United were 4-0 before the hour mark.
Nick Barmby got a consolation goal two minutes from time, but the damage was done by that point.
This triumph showcased the blend of attacking flair and defensive solidity that built the foundation for the title winning side that season and would define Manchester United’s success in the years to come.
