It’s just not worked out for Antony.

Nobody can argue that he doesn’t give everything on the pitch. Unlike some of the other United stars, Antony works hard for the team and his teammates. It’s why manager Erik ten Hag likes him so much.

He’s also supremely skilful and has fast feet.

But it doesn’t seem like the English Premier League is the right fit for him.

Antony has become a bit of a figure of fun online for rival due to the stats that he’s put together this season and that’s never a good sign.

With the likes of Amad waiting in the wings as well as Alejandro Garnacho now operating from the front, United might be wish to see if they can recoup some of what they spent on the Brazilian.

Don’t forget, he’s a Brazil international. There will be clubs in Europe interested in taking him and he’d likely flourish in a different league.

Physicality is not Antony’s strong suit and it seems that he’s never going to conquer the pace and power required to succeed in England.

Sometimes you need to put your hands up and say you got it wrong.
