When Fabrizio Romano says ‘here we go’, then the move is pretty much done already.

The Italian reporter is most busy during the transfer window.

His followers expect to see a lot of news towards the end of the window and that’s turned out to be the case for one recent Manchester United midfielder.

That’s because Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a deal is set to be agreed today.

And the deal concerns recent Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

It’s the second season in a row that Sofyan Amrabat is set to join a club on loan on transfer deadline day.

Last season, he joined United from Fiorentina on a season long loan.

With that deal came the option for the Red Devils to turn that into a permanent transfer.

Unfortunately, Erik ten Hag and the United hierarchy didn’t see enough of Sofyan Amrabat to exercise that clause.

Despite playing in the FA Cup final and helping the team to victory, the club decided to target Manuel Ugarte instead.

This was despite Amrabat’s desire to return to Manchester on a permanent basis.

Such was the confusion around his future that United only removed him as a first team player from their site two weeks ago.

Instead, it seems that he’ll have to make do with just linking up with another former Manchester United manager.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce seem to be the ones who will be welcoming the Morocco international to their club on this deadline day.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that a deal is in place between the Turkish side and Fiorentina, who still hold the rights to Sofyan Amrabat’s contract.

The Serie A side will receive an initial €2m loan fee, with an obligation to buy set at €13m.

There are also €3m in add-ons in the total.

That would take the potential deal up to around €18m if all clauses are met.

Sofyan Amrabat is set to sign a 4 year contract in Turkiye and has a flight booked to Istanbul to complete the move.

So it seems that Amrabat will finally be ending his stay in Italy.

His next chapter will be written in Turkish football.
