The day may finally be upon us where Manchester United have accepted a bid for their highly regarded midfielder.
The pursuit of Scott McTominay may finally be at it’s conclusion now, with a number of top European clubs looking at the Scotland international.
Whilst Fulham were the front runners for some time, when they backed out it left the race wide open for Napoli to take the lead.
A bid for £21 million was recently tabled by the Serie A side, however was rejected by United. Reports now claim that Napoli have entered a revised offer which “appears to have been accepted” by the Red Devils.

The news comes from Italian publication, Il Mattino via CalcioNapoli24, saying that “a €25m offer ‘appears to have been accepted’ by Manchester United”.
It’s understood that the offer for the midfielder included bonuses, however this claim feels a little premature, being for the same value as their recent bid.
United have previously held out for a bid of £25 million (€30 million), not agreeing to anything less, having rejected two different bids from Fulham before they met the asking price.
However, with deadline day looming, this may be a factor to encourage United to reduce their fee slightly.
We know that McTominay has given Napoli his preference, agreeing a four year contract with the Italian side.
Despite interest from eight different clubs this summer also including Everton, Spurs, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, it’s worth noting that Napoli is only the second team McTominay has agreed terms with.
Earlier in the summer, the midfielder agreed terms with Galatasaray, showing that he’s taking time to consider the right club for him after life at Old Trafford.
