Kobbie Mainoo has had a tremendous rise within the Manchester United squad of the last year.
He’s risen through the ranks and has now established himself as a key part of the United midfield. Erik ten Hag is keen to sign a midfielder who can become a partner to Mainoo and complement his developing ability.
United have identified Manuel Ugarte as the key partner, with his tenacity to spot a chance at winning the ball back to then make a simple pass, Mainoo is a play who can receive the ball then launch an attack with it, picking out other players.

The 19-year-old was a key factor in United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup Final, grabbing one of the two goals, and was a vital part of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 England squad.
Now though, he’s showing his character off the pitch, making a cheeky joke at one of his new teammates.

The Daily Mail reported that the United players recently had a night out at Tattu Manchester, a local Chinese restaurant, based on Gartside Street in Spinningfields.
A video of the night has now emerged, first on TikTok, then X, of a hilarious moment between Mainoo and new signing, Leny Yoro.
Mainoo is sat inside the car with another new Red Devil, Joshua Zirkzee, as Yoro tossed his crutches into the vehicle before climbing in himself.
The England international can be seen lifting one of Yoro’s crutches, making fun of his teammate’s speed.
“Leny, you’re so slow bro,” Mainoo joked with the new signings.
Yoro’s injury picked up in the pre-season has ruled the defender out until at least New Year.
