Manchester United have finally completed a deal for highly sought after youngster Sekou Kone.

The 18-year-old has been sparking interest for a good number of top level teams thanks to his impressive performances in the Under-17s World Cup in Indonesia last year.

Playing for Mali, Kone helped his side secure a third place finish, being an anchor for the squad in the centre of the pitch.

For a long time it looked like front runners, RedBull Salzburg would be the ones to sign the star, as they have with a number of other Mali internationals, like Soumaïla Diabaté, Mamady Diambou, Gaoussou Diakité, Daouda Guindo, Dorgeles Nene and Moussa Yeo.

However, the common factor with all of these signings, including Kone, is Christopher Vivell, United’s new transfer specialist.

Vivell was in the role of recruitment at Salzburg when these signings went through, and it appears this reputation may have helped United get their man this time.

Sports journalist Christopher Michel has now revealed that the added sum for Kone stands at €1.5 million with a series of bonuses based on professional appearances.

Kone is due to arrive in Manchester next week to complete his medical exam, with the Under 21s squad waiting for him to gain some match practice.
