The midfield still remains an area of concern for United, it is a position INEOS really want to strengthen.

Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States has resulted in significant setbacks with two major injuries and a couple of defeats against their fierce rivals.

In their most recent match against Liverpool, the Red Devils were the more dominant side but still ended up losing 0-3.

This game served as a stark reminder to the club that while they may have strengthened their defense and attack, the midfield remains an area of concern.

Casemiro’s performance was particularly worrying, as he struggled to track back, was easily bypassed by Liverpool attackers, and appeared slow on the field.

It’s no surprise that United are considering moving on from the 32-year-old Brazilian, despite Erik ten Hag’s preferences.

Currently, there have been no bids from Saudi clubs for Casemiro, and no movement on Scott McTominay either, with United holding out for at least £30 million for the Scottish international.

This has stalled any potential deal for Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

Sofyan Amrabat remains a backup option, but he cannot be the sole addition to the midfield. United needs someone of higher quality to reinforce this crucial area.

United offered French midfielder

According to HITC Football, Borussia Monchengladbach has offered Manu Kone to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.

With an asking price of only £20 million, Kone presents an attractive option.

HITC reports that Manu Kone has been offered to clubs in England, such as Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Fulham.

The report further indicates that Gladbach want around £20 million for the 23-year-old this summer following his request to leave.

Kone is currently at the Olympics with the French squad, and a move away is expected to accelerate once his time in Paris concludes.

Monchengladbach director Roland Virkus confirmed last week that Kone had expressed his desire to leave the club early on. “Manu Kone told us quite early on that he wanted to leave the club,” Virkus stated.

Kone has been scouted by United in the past and is versatile across the midfield, including as a defensive midfielder.

However, it remains uncertain whether he possesses the quality to make the jump to one of the biggest clubs in the world.
