Manchester United have been proactive in the current transfer window, having already secured the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

However, the Red Devils are not planning to stop there. They are now targeting Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

Despite having an initial joint bid rejected by the German club, a second bid is reportedly imminent.

United hope this forthcoming offer will be sufficient to secure both players’ signatures, as they do not want to prolong negotiations further, having additional targets in mind.

Once the deal for De Ligt and Mazraoui is sealed, United are expected to turn their attention to PSG’s defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The player has been a priority for the club, with manager Erik ten Hag expressing a strong interest in him.

Overall, it promises to be a busy August for United as they aim to secure at least three more major signings.

If the budget allows and enough sales are completed, it is understood that the club might not stop with Ugarte and could bring in another striker to support Zirkzee and Hojlund.

United headed to transfer summit

In the midst of these transfer activities, United have a significant opportunity on the horizon as they prepare to join clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool at a transfer summit on Monday.

This summit is particularly important for United as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

United have previously attended TransferRoom summits, and this time a representative will be present in Madrid at the latest event on August 5th.

They will join hundreds of clubs and a selection of top agencies from around the world at the organisation’s Deal Day event.

Alongside United, major clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Juventus will be in attendance.

Jonas Ankersen, CEO of TransferRoom, highlighted the significance of this event, stating: “In the summer transfer window time is precious.

“This is the opportunity for clubs and agents to hold weeks’ worth of transfer talks on a global scale in just one day. Every handshake could seal a game-changing move.

“Clubs and agents will hold direct negotiations through a series of one-to-one meetings and expand their network with exclusive networking opportunities at a pivotal time, so they can get ahead of the competition and get deals done fast.”

TransferRoom is a transfer marketplace utilised by more than 800 clubs from over 100 leagues in more than 60 countries, along with over 500 trusted agencies.

It provides decision-makers at clubs with information on available players and the needs of other clubs, allowing them to get in contact through a messaging system. Players can also be pitched to clubs searching for specific talents.

In 2021, TransferRoom welcomed agents to the platform, which has helped build links and trust between them and clubs, facilitating market moves.

The platform’s structure enables efficient transfer negotiations and helps clubs expedite their transfer dealings.

With the transfer summit approaching and their ongoing transfer pursuits, Manchester United are set for an eventful period as they aim to finalise their squad enhancements ahead of the new season.
