Manchester United have now suffered two more injuries taking their number to five already in just four games.
In United’s first pre-season game against Rosenborg, the Red Devils picked up a minor injury with centre-back Will Fish. Thankfully however this didn’t appear to be too substantial with the youngster returning against Rangers next game.
Two worrying injuries however have been to new signing Leny Yoro and striker Rasmus Hojlund. Both were taken off in United’s Stateside tour opener against Arsenal. Both men were substituted in the first half not able to continue with the match.
It’s now been confirmed by the club that Hojund will be ruled out until midway through September and Yoro will be out even longer until the end of October.
Now, if that wasn’t enough, United have now experienced two more injuries with their senior squad in their second tour game against Real Betis.
The next set of injuries for United
Unfortunately for United, two more of their senior attackers have now picked up injuries, with Marcus Rashford and Antony being side-lined.
Rashford managed to start the scoring for United, equalising from the penalty spot to make it 1-1. Later in the gave he got on the scoreboard again with an assist to Casemiro, making it 3-1 going into half time.
The star’s game was called short however when he then hobbled off at around the hour mark being replaced with Hannibal Mejbri. Rashford took a hit to his right ankle, clearly making the player feel some discomfort.
Antony’s contribution however was even shorter, coming on for goal scorer Amad Diallo in the 62nd minute before being taken off for Sam Mather in the 86th minute, giving him only 24 minutes on the pitch. The Brazilian star looked devastated as he went straight down the tunnel.
Erik ten Hag will certainly getting worried now that history is repeating itself with last season’s campaign heavily affected by injury set backs.
Although the extent of these two new injuries are not yet known, no doubts we’ll have more news in the coming days.
