Manchester United’s youth academy is very quickly becoming a hub of excitement for the club’s future success.
The Red Devils are working on both fronts to improve their academy, with the club retaining their most exciting prospects as well as signing some incredible young talent.
United have managed to keep one of their mot exciting academy members, Billy Mantato, by offering him a rare “Pre-Pro” contract which guarantees him a professional contract at the age of 17.
Joining him at the academy we have Silva Mexes, James Overy and Camron Mpofu, with two more looking extremely close to joining them as new signings.
Yesterday hints were dropped on social media of Samuel Lusale visiting Old Trafford to sign a contract with the Red Devils after he was left off of Crystal Palace’s first year scholar intake for 2024. This coupled with his Instagram photo taken in a hotel room which looks a lot like Hotel Football at Old Trafford have got people putting two and two together, expecting the Slovakian winger to join United this summer.
However, an even more exciting signing for United may be on the horizon with Chido Obi Martin recently having visited Carrington this week to look at a move to Old Trafford.
For those who don’t know, Obi Martin is currently a member of Arsenal’s Hale End academy and the Danish striker is being labelled as one of their most exciting players to come out of the academy, a youth system which brought us Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
This talent striker has got a serious eye for goal, having scored an incredible 32 goals in 18 games in the Under-18s Premier League. This ridiculously impressive season has seen him play six games with at least a hattrick, grabbing three against Southampton and Chelsea, four against Crystal Palace and Fulham, five against West Ham and a mind blowing seven in Arsenals 9-0 win over Norwich.
Not just a star for his club, playing for the Danish Under-17s squad, Obi Martin has wracked up an incredible eleven goals in 18 games, showing his natural talent in front of goal.
Now, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal consider the sticker as having left the London based club, despite being offered a considerable proposal.
He also confirmed Obi Martin’s visit to Carrington earlier this week, with United facing competition from Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, AS Monaco and Eintract Frankfurt for the star’s signature.
With the 16-year-old having visited United, it’s expected to hear more news of this star in the coming days, with the player set to be a true talent of the future.
