Ruben Amorim is preparing his side for the first Manchester derby of the season, having had two weeks for the international break to reassess his squad, and plan for their trip to the Etihad Stadium.

So far this season, United have grabbed a win, a draw and a loss to sit in ninth place overall with four points, with their 3-2 win over Burnley seeing them into the international break.

However, a handful of United stars took some worrying knocks in and after the game, with Matheus Cunha and Diogo Dalot having to pull out of international duty due to their injuries.

Cunha was set to join the Brazil national side alongside Casemiro, whilst Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes were set to play for Portugal, however the injury setbacks meant Cunha and Dalot needed to be replaced.

Now, Ruben Amorim has addressed their situation in the pre-match press conference, commenting: “They are out. I don’t know how long it will be take. We need those guys, but we have guys who are eager to play. They are out, they cannot help us in this game.”

As well as ruling the injured trio out of the game, he also alluded to Altay Bayindir starting the match in goal over new signing Senne Lammens, giving the Belgian keeper time to settle into the squad.

However, these aren’t the only players to be missing the game, with Pep Guardiola also confirming that Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Omar Marmoush and John Stones are also ruled out through injury.
