Matheus Cunha has been a key figure at Manchester United since his arrival as Ruben Amorim’s first summer signing in the early stages of the summer transfer window.

Cunha, formerly of Wolverhampton Wanderers, had played in each of United’s first three Premier League games.

But, in his third game – against Burnley -, the forward picked up an injury which saw the Brazilian go straight down the tunnel.

Furthermore, his injury forced the Brazilian national team to release Cunha to allow him to recover from the injury.

However, as exclusively revealed by CentreDevils, Cunha’s injury wasn’t as serious as initially thought following initial scans.

Furthermore, the forward had been staying at Carrington to allow him to recover and had been doing some light gym work.

The Brazilian also personally released his own update on his Instagram page as he stated that he would “be back soon, always with joy and gratitude.”

With this update released, attention is currently focused on the 26-year-old’s recovery and the chances of him playing in the Manchester derby in just over a week’s time.

Now, the forward has shared an update on his progress in his journey to recovery.

Posting on his official Instagram story, Matheus Cunha is already using an exercise bike with him using the bike today in a private gym in Manchester.

The fact that he is using a bike at this stage of his recovery is positive as he is already doing physical movement with both legs.

But, with this update revealed, the next few days will arguably be key to see how Cunha fairs with his rehabilitation.

As was the case previously, attention will remain on the forward’s recovery and the chances of him participating in the Manchester derby in a week’s time.
