Casemiro was one of many names who was linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.
The Brazilian midfielder, who joined United in 2022, has made 128 appearances for United since joining and has scored 17 goals in this time.
However, following the midfielder playing 1497 minutes during the course of last season, the 33-year-old was linked with a move to several clubs.
Initially, it looked like Turkish side Besiktas were in the market for the former Real Madrid player.
But, this interest faded out as the transfer window progressed.
Then, Al-Nassr were reported to be interested in the midfielder with the Saudi Pro League side said to be in advanced talks over a move to Saudi Arabia.
However, following these links, the Mirror revealed that the 33-year-old would be staying at Old Trafford this summer.
But, even with this news, Casemiro still had to officially reveal that he would stay at United in August.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided a “concrete” update on the midfielder’s future with Manchester United.
Speaking on his official YouTube channel, the journalist has revealed that there is a concrete chance that Casemiro will leave Old Trafford this summer.
If this was to occur, United’s salary budget would increase.
Furthermore, Ruben Amorim’s side would receive money from the deal if they were to sell him.
The money from this departure, alongside the freeing up of wage budget, could allow United to pursue a number of other midfield options.
One of these names is Carlos Baleba who, in 2026, could end up moving to Manchester United permanently.
But, with this summer’s window only just finished in England, there is still a large period before next summer.
Therefore, anything could change and many details could change in that period of time.
