Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo can be said to be similar in ways.
The two players, who played together during Ronaldo’s second spell at Old Trafford, both arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting CP.
Furthermore, the duo are teammates on the Portuguese national team and are currently together on international duty.
However, earlier this summer, there had been a chance that Fernandes and Ronaldo would reunite at Al-Nassr, who were interested in signing the Manchester United captain as a part of Nassr’s summer business.
But, following initial interest, the chances of the 30-year-old signing for the Saudi Pro League side looked to fade out following Fernandes’ rejection of the prospect.
Now, a key detail of Al-Nassr’s bid to sign Bruno Fernandes has been revealed.
According to talkSPORT, Fernandes communicated his desire to stay in Europe for at least another 12 months to Cristiano Ronaldo directly.
Currently, Ronaldo is involved in Al-Nassr’s recruitment strategy following his signing of a new contract in June.
The signing of this contract gave the Portuguese star a large amount of power, including in the recruitment area of the club.
With this news revealed, attention could turn towards Portugal’s games against Armenia and Hungary with the former currently taking place.
It is likely that both players – Fernandes and Ronaldo – will take part in these games given that the duo are currently playing in Portugal’s game against Armenia currently.
Furthermore, in the coming months, attention could turn towards the prospect of Bruno Fernandes moving to Saudi Arabia next summer.
If Fernandes was to move to the Saudi Pro League in next summer’s transfer window, the involvement of Cristiano Ronaldo could be present in a bid to bring him to Al-Nassr.
But, only time will tell in the prospect of this occurring.
