The club’s youth development teams continue to be an essential component of the long-term ambition, even though the majority of the discussion surrounding Manchester United this summer has focused on Ruben Amorim’s senior team.

Top-tier talent has been consistently produced by United’s academy.

Under the new INEOS sporting structure, they have been aiming to buy young, talented prospects.

This has been evident in the signings of Enzo Kana-Biyik, Harley Emsden-James, and Ben Lyne this summer window.

Before joining the first squad, the upcoming generation of young players will want to establish themselves.

One of the Red Devils’ most exciting prospects is Sekou Kone.

Kone unfortunately suffered a head injury in the U21’s game against Tamworth in mid-August.

Medical personnel advised Kone to get back on his feet, but he needed to be treated on the field.

The game was eventually called off after the teenage player was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Now, we can reveal a fresh update on his situation.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Sekou Kone is currently doing individual grass training as he steps up his recovery work after his injury.

We can reveal that he is set to return to group training with the U21s soon, with his injury not being seen as serious.

Kone could be involved with the first team later on this season if he continues to progress well with the U21s.

The Mali midfielder was linked for a loan move to FC Lausanne-Sport, who are owned by INEOS.

The club opted against it after he impressed Ruben Amorim and coaches in training during pre-season.

With United’s ongoing midfield issues, Kone could potentially break through this season, with his trajectory being high internally.

His injury boost is seen as a positive for the Red Devils.
