Last season saw Leicester City, managed by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistlerooy, get relegated from the Premier League only a year after returning to the top flight.
Back in June The Foxes officially announced the sacking of the former striker, explaining the decision was a mutual agreement, with Marti Cifuentes replacing the Dutchman.
However, the men’s team aren’t the only ones going through management changes ahead of the new season, with the Leicester City Women’s side also hiring a new manager.
Leicester’s Women’s side are set to play Manchester United in their opening fixture of the 2025/26 Women’s Super League season, with Rick Passmoor now appointed to lead the side.
Taking to their official website, Leicester City announced: “We are pleased to confirm that Rick Passmoor has joined our LCFC Women coaching staff to lead the team’s preparations for the new Barclays Women’s Super League season.”
The statement continued: “Rick, an experienced and respected figure within the women’s game, arrives after a spell with West Ham United Women, where he was Assistant Head Coach.
“He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from a coaching career spanning two decades, including roles with Leeds United Ladies and Notts County.
“He will work alongside Tom Pressman and Ollie Colebourne within the coaching team, which he will lead on an interim basis until the process of appointing a new LCFC Women First Team Manager has been concluded.
“Rick’s addition strengthens the set-up as the squad continues its build-up to the WSL opener at Manchester United on Sunday 7 September.
With United coming third last season, Marc Skinner will be hoping to kick off their 2025/26 campaign with a win over the Foxes to give them a strong base to build off for the rest of the season.
