Manchester United have seen a familiar face return to European football as clubs across Spain finalised their summer moves.

La Liga continues to attract former Premier League talent, with several high-profile players making late-window transfers.

Real Betis have been particularly active, bolstering their squad ahead of the busy festive period.

With the season already underway, manager Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear he wants experienced players to add depth and leadership to the team.

This strategy has seen Betis strengthen in key areas while also linking up former teammates who shared time in the Premier League.

It can now be confirmed that Real Betis and Fenerbahce have reached an agreement for the loan of midfielder Sofyan Amrabat until the end of the season, as Betis announced via their website.

Born in Huizen, Netherlands on 21 August 2006, Sofyan Amrabat began his professional journey at FC Utrecht before moving through a series of European clubs, including Feyenoord, Club Brugge, Hellas Verona, Fiorentina, and, notably, Manchester United.

His stint at United came on loan, where he showcased his versatility and work ethic in midfield.

Throughout his career, Amrabat has collected multiple honours, including an FA Cup, a Belgian league title, a Dutch league title, and two Dutch Super Cups.

Internationally, he has been a regular for Morocco, playing a key role in their historic fourth-place finish at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Adding another layer to this transfer, Amrabat will join another ex-United star Antony at Real Betis after his deadline day move.

Both players bring a mix of Premier League experience and international pedigree, making them valuable assets for Betis as they look to challenge in La Liga and domestic cup competitions.

For United fans, this is a reminder of the club’s summer loan and transfer strategies, as several former players continue their careers abroad while still making headlines in top European leagues.
