Manchester United fans have been reflecting on past transfer decisions as the summer transfer window saw plenty of movement across Europe.

Several clubs were active in signing experienced forwards to bolster their squads, with one La Liga side making a notable addition to their attack.

Veteran strikers with Premier League experience were particularly in demand, bringing both leadership and a proven goal-scoring record.

Many teams are seeking players who can offer instant impact while mentoring younger teammates, and Sevilla were no exception.

It can now be revealed that Sevilla FC and Udinese Calcio have reached an agreement to bring in Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez for a one-season deal, as Sevilla announced via their website.

The 36-year-old arrives in Nervion after a career spanning some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with trophies including a Spanish league title, two Serie A titles, two FA Cups, a Copa del Rey, two Coppa Italia trophies, a UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup, and two Copa América titles with Chile.

Alexis Sanchez began his professional journey with Cobreloa in 2005 before moving to Udinese, featuring on loan at Colo-Colo and River Plate.

His exploits earned a move to Barcelona in 2011, where he scored 46 goals in three seasons, before signing for Arsenal in 2014.

His time in England eventually led him to Manchester United, but injuries and inconsistency prevented him from reaching his peak at Old Trafford.

He arrived from Arsenal with the aim of securing a league title for United, but it never came to fruition.

After a spell in Italy with Inter Milan and a loan at Olympique de Marseille, Sanchez returned to Udinese last season before making this latest move to Sevilla.

He now reunites with compatriot Gabriel Suazo and is expected to contribute both experience and attacking prowess to the squad.

Reports suggested Fenerbahce were ready to offer him a one-year deal, but he has instead opted to join Sevilla.

Internationally, Sanchez has 168 caps for Chile, scoring 51 goals, making him the nation’s most-capped player.

He has represented Chile in multiple World Cups, Copa America victories, and the Confederations Cup, cementing his status as one of the country’s all-time greats.
