Rasmus Hojlund has finally joined Napoli, officially bringing a transfer saga that has spanned months to an end.
The saga has involved two primary clubs as Hojlund sourced a move away from United, who he joined in 2023.
One of these clubs is AC Milan, who had previously revealed their payment structure for a potential deal following the Serie A outfit confirming their interest.
However, Milan have also pursued other options such as Victor Boniface making a deal for the Red Devils striker arguably less less likely.
The club that have looked more likely to sign Hojlund in the last couple of weeks is Napoli.
The Italian champions, who have names such as Scott McTominay in their squad, had agreed terms with United earlier this week following Hojlund giving his green light for the deal and agreeing terms with the Naples outfit.
Furthermore, with Fabrizio Romano giving the deal his famous ‘here we go’ send-off and with Hojlund arriving in Naples on Saturday evening, an official unveiling looked inevitable.
Now, Napoli have officially completed the signing of the Danish international.
Taking to their official website, the Italian champions stated “Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has joined Napoli on loan for the duration of the 2025/26 season, subject to international clearance and registration”.
Acknowledging the former Red Devil already in Antonio Conte’s squad, the statement added: “Rasmus has agreed a move to the Serie A champions, under the management of Antonio Conte.
“He will play alongside former United team-mate Scott McTominay, who helped the Neapolitans to a fourth Scudetto title last term.
“Napoli will be the fifth club Hojlund has represented during his career, following earlier spells with Copenhagen and Sturm Graz.
“We’d like to wish Rasmus good luck for the campaign ahead.”
With this deal now complete, Hojlund will arguably look towards building a successful spell while with Napoli.
Furthermore, he will join up with the rest of the Napoli squad and join names such as Kevin De Bruyne as the Naples outfit look to retain Serie A this season.
