Sheffield United already have their Championship campaign underway, however currently sit at the bottom of the table after three games.
In their opening league fixture, The Blades lost 4-1 to Bristol City, before traveling to face Birmingham City in the Carabao Cup, losing 2-1 to be knocked out of the cup in the first round.
Then, Sheffield United went on to experience back-to-back 1-0 loses, firstly away to Swansea, the at home to Millwall, seeing only them and Oxford United yet to get a point on the board.
Now, The Blades have officially recruited a former Manchester United midfielder to help them fight their way up the table.
Taking to their official website, Sheffield United have unveiled their new signing of Tahith Chong, announcing: “A busy week continues on the transfer front, as United secure the services of a midfielder with proven Championship ability.”
The statement continued: “Tahith Chong is now a Blade after United agreed an undisclosed fee with Luton Town to bring the 25-year-old to Bramall Lane.
“The former Manchester United star has penned a deal until 2029, and he revealed it was a transfer which accelerated quickly over the past couple of days.”
Speaking for the first time as a Blade, Chong commented: “I am very happy that this was done so quickly and that I’m here now.”
He continued: “I’ll be honest, as I’m speaking right now, it has been 48 hours or so, so everything has moved very quickly, and that’s compliments to the club as well to get everything sorted out so quick.
“When you think of Sheffield United, you think of a big club and as soon as I heard, I was obviously very interested and very keen to sign.
“I’ve had two years at Luton, had some ups and downs, but now 100 per cent ready for a fresh start.”
